EVERETT — Coco Armstong scored his career season-high eighth goal of the season but the Spokane Chiefs lost to the U.S. Division leading Everett Silvertips 2-1 in a Western Hockey League game at Angel of the Winds Arena on Wednesday. 

Last season on their run to the Western Hockey League championship series, the Spokane Chiefs featured a prolific offense – second in the WHL in goals scored with the top-ranked power play.

A third-period insurance goal from Ethan Hughes turned out to be the game-winner for the Spokane Chiefs, who fended off Regina on Wednesday night for a 3-2 win at the Arena.

PENTICTON, British Columbia – Forward Brody Gillespie scored two goals, including the clincher early in the overtime period, to lift the Spokane Chiefs to a 4-3 victory over the Penticton Vees in the first-ever matchup between the teams on Friday night at South Okanagan Events Centre.
