Building A Better Bread

Give us this day our daily bread - but can we please skip the fat?

Potter’s Gourmet Bread Mixes (so named because they used to be sold with baking pans made by the Manito Park potters) come in five flavors that can be prepared fat-free: Garlic Herb, Apple Cinnamon, Dill Herb, Hearty Beer and Orange Spice.

There’s also a Double Chocolate Pudding Cake that mixes up just as easily. No, it’s not nonfat - but man does not live by bread alone.

Price: About $3 for the bread mixes and $6 for the chocolate pudding cake mix.
