Beatrice Baker Spokane
Visitation for Beatrice R. “Bea” Baker, 93, will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Congregational Church.
A 69-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Baker died Saturday. She was born in Chicago.
Mrs. Baker attended Washington State University and later graduated from Eastern Washington University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega and the Spurs National Collegiate Honor Society.
She was a teacher in School District 81 for many years, teaching at Bryant and Hutton elementary schools. She also taught in LaCrosse and Wilbur, Wash.
Mrs. Baker was a member and served as president of the Spokane County Medical Society Women’s Auxiliary, was a member of the Emerald Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in LaCrosse, Heritage Congregational Church in Spokane, the Retired Teachers Association, the Spokane Club, and Manito Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Bruce; a daughter, Jacqueline McKee of Spokane; a son, James Baker of Bellevue, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy Sandy of Chicago; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Emmeline (Flegel) Ziegenhagel Spokane
Memorial service for Emmeline (Flegel) Ziegenhagel, 102, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ziegenhagel, who was born in Kulm, N.D., died May 5.
She married Dave Ziegenhagel in 1919 and resided in Lehr, N.D., until 1946 when she moved to Fargo, N.D.
Mrs. Ziegenhagel moved to Spokane in the 1960s.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Delores Utgaard of Spokane and Lucile Young of Palo Alto, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Evelyn Kiehn Odessa, Wash.
Funeral for Evelyn E. Kiehn, a lifetime Odessa resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at Heritage Church in Odessa. Burial will follow at the Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Miss Kiehn, who died Sunday, was 77.
She graduated from Odessa High School. She was a homemaker, and a member of Heritage Church in Odessa.
Survivors include two sisters, Viola Boyk of Odessa and Betty Haase of Moses Lake; four stepbrothers, Wesley Bauer of Woodburn, Ore., Davis Bauer of Connell, Wash., Harlan Bauer of Corvallis, Ore., and William Bauer of Eugene, Ore.

Kerry Deking Ritzville, Wash.
Funeral for Kerry Jean Deking, 51, was Monday at Ritzville Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Vault burial followed at the Lutheran Cemetery in Ritzville.
A longtime Ritzville resident, Mrs. Deking died Thursday. She was born in Tempe, Ariz.
Mrs. Deking graduated from Tempe Union High School in 1965 and from the University of Arizona in 1969 with a bachelor of science degree in home economics.
She moved to Ritzville and began working as an extension home economist.
In 1971 she married Dennis Deking and they began farming in 1975.
Mrs. Deking also held various jobs over the years, including at the Life Care Center, as secretary of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she was also a member and served as president of the Women’s Group and on the church council. She had been working most recently at the Ritzville Medical Clinic.
She was a member of the Future Farmers of America Alumni and was active with the 4-H Club.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Jennifer and Tiffany Deking, both of Ritzville; her father, Warner Owens of Ritzville; a brother, Gary Owens of Ephrata, Wash.; and two sisters, Joyce Owens of Wenatchee and Sandra Morgan of Burbank, Calif.

Gordon Sly Spokane
Funeral for Gordon L. Sly, 63, is planned for 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Paschal Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Spokane. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Sly, who was born in Republic, Wash., died Saturday.
He graduated from Kettle Falls (Wash.) High School in 1953. He served in the National Guard and later in the Army as a signal corps instructor.
Mr. Sly worked as a dispatcher for the Washington State Patrol in Ephrata, Wash., and was later commissioned as state trooper and then as sergeant. He worked in the Rosalia, Colfax and Colville, Wash., areas, and in Puyallup, Wash., and Tacoma for several years. He retired after 23 years.
In 1956 he married Donna Lael.
Mr. Sly was a member and served as president of Eagles Lodge 2797.
He moved to Spokane in 1997.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Tracie Sly-Scofield and Sherri Sly; two sisters, Fran Starkel of California City, Calif., and Dorothy Vannatta of Weiser, Idaho; a brother, Jack Sly of Kettle Falls; and one granddaughter.

Douglas Kenworthy Spokane
Visitation for Douglas J. Kenworthy, 57, will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home. Funeral is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
A lifetime Spokane resident, Mr. Kenworthy died Saturday.
He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1959.
Mr. Kenworthy served as a trooper for the Washington State Patrol for 10 years.
He was also an owner and horse trainer at Playfair Race Course for 30 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Sellers of Colbert and Sandra Baldwin of Fairchild Air Force Base; a son, Russell Kenworthy of Veradale; three brothers, Raymond Kenworthy of Walla Walla, Duane Kenworthy of Wenatchee and Dale Kenworthy of Vancouver, Wash.; and seven grandchildren.
Dana Buckman Spokane
Funeral Mass for Dana M. Buckman, 51, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A 33-year Spokane resident, Mrs. Buckman died Sunday. She was born in Hays, Mont.
Mrs. Buckman was a homemaker and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Parish Council. She was also involved in pastoral ministry in the Native American Catholic community and with inmates.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Thomas; two sons, Dale and John Buckman, both of Spokane; her mother, Alvine Birdtail of Fort Belknap, Mont.; seven brothers, Donald, Gordon, Ermerson, Myron, Leon, Tyron and Vincent Birdtail; and one grandchild.

Harold Anderson Garfield, Wash.
Memorial service for Harold E. Anderson, 80, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Garfield Christian Church. Private burial will precede the service at Garfield Cemetery. Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Troy, Idaho, Mr. Anderson died Monday.
He attended schools in Moscow, Idaho, where he graduated from high school.
Mr. Anderson moved to Oakesdale, Wash., in 1938 and farmed. He married Rose Nelson in 1939.
He continued to farm near Oakesdale until his retirement in 1987. He moved to Garfield in 1997.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Fourth Memorial Church in Spokane and Garfield Christian Church. He was also a member of the Oakesdale Grange, a member and past board member of the Oakesdale Grain Growers and the Oakesdale Grange Supply, and served on the Oakesdale School Board.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald and Robert Anderson, both of Oakesdale; a brother, Delbert Anderson of Othello, Wash.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

William Parks Spokane
No service will be held for Willaim Andrew “Bill” Parks, 88, at his request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-North is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Parks, who was born in Tilden, Neb., died Friday.
He moved to Ponoka, Alberta, in 1928, where he farmed and worked as a journeyman carpenter until joining the Army in 1942.
Mr. Parks served as a private first class mortar gunner in Company E of the 322nd Infantry Division in the Southern Philippines and the Western Pacific during World War II. He earned the Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Service Star, an American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
He returned to Canada after his military service and married Ruth Hansen Smith. They later divorced.
Mr. Parks moved to Spokane in 1955, where he worked for Kaiser Aluminum, the Holland Furnace Co. and the City of Spokane in the traffic signs and markers department. He retired in 1975.
In 1963 he married Amy Munson. She died in 1971.
He had lived at the Park Place Retirement Center for four years until entering St. Luke’s Extended Care Center almost two years ago.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Koerner of Kellogg and Bonnie Algar of Liberty Lake; two sisters, Willodene Frazer and Lucille MacMillen, both of Ponoka; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Timothy Radmer Medical Lake
Visitation for Timothy W. Radmer, a longtime Medical Lake resident, will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cheney Funeral Chapel. Funeral is planned for 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Medical Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Radmer, who was born in Las Vegas, died Sunday. He was 30.
He graduated from Medical Lake High School in 1989 and lived on the family farm in Medical Lake.
Mr. Radmer was a volunteer for the Medical Lake Library and Cheney Recycling Center.
He was a member of the Espanola, Spokane County Pamona and the Washington State granges.
Survivors include his parents, Walt and Janice Radmer of Medical Lake; two brothers, Duane Radmer of Spokane and Aaron Radmer of Grand Forks, N.D.; his grandparents, Elsie Cogswell of Medical Lake and Lillian Radmer of Smelterville, Idaho.

Ethel Tuttle Coeur d’Alene
Service for Ethel I. Tuttle, 79, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Tuttle, who was born in Worley, Idaho, died Sunday.
She moved to California in 1940 and later settled in the Belgrove area near Rockford Bay on Lake Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Tuttle had worked as a cook for the Worley and Coeur d’Alene School districts before retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Coeur d’Alene.
Mrs. Tuttle was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Oren in 1976.
Survivors include two nieces, Darlene Kay of Hayden Lake, Idaho, and Celia Stewart of California; and three nephews, Donald Shriner of Coeur d’Alene, Allan Wright of California and Kenneth Sienknecht of Twisp, Wash.

Marie McLean Spokane
Memorial service for Marie L. McLean, 75, is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the Hunters (Wash.) Presbyterian Church. The Cremation Society of Washington is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. McLean, who died Sunday, was born in Monrovia, Calif.
She was raised on a ranch near what is now Seven Bays, Wash., and graduated from Creston (Wash.) High School in 1941.
Mrs. McLean was a homemaker and member of the Rebekkah Lodge, Enterprise Ladies Club, Greenwood Grange and the Order of Eastern Star.
She moved to Spokane several years ago.
Her husband, Leigh McLean, preceded her in death.
Survivors include five sons, Richard McLean of Spokane, Donald McLean of Elko, Nev., Lawton McLean of Wasilla, Alaska, and John Bain and Jim McLean, both of Fruitland, Wash., Wash.; three daughters, Claudia McLean of Anchorage, Alaska, Janis Faulkes of Moses Lake and Patty McLean of Spokane; two brothers, Fred Cannon of Yakima and Pete Cannon of Fruitland; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Jennie Krehbiel Hesston, Kan.
Funeral for Jennie M. Krehbiel, 94, a former resident of Ritzville, Wash., is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at the Menno Mennonite Church near Ritzville. Vault burial will be at the Menno Mennonite Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Krehbiel, who died Monday, was born in Krupp, Wash., which is now Marlin, Wash.
She grew up in Grant County, attended grade school in Ruff, Wash., and high school in Lind and Odessa, Wash., graduating in 1923.
Mrs. Krehbiel went on to receive her teaching certificate from Cheney Normal School. She taught in a one-room school house in Sheller, Wash., for three years, then for two years in Edwall, Wash.
She moved to Ritzville and taught for the Ritzville School District for five years.
In 1934 she married Arthur Krehbiel and they lived in Lind. He died in 1951.
In 1952 she returned to Ritzville, where she went to work for the Adams County Auditor’s Office. She retired after 11 years.
In 1990 Mrs. Krehbiel moved to Schowalter Villa in Hesston to be near her family.
She was a lifetime member of the Menno Mennonite Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Lee Muirhead of Bellingham; a son, James Krehbiel of Newton, Kan.; a brother, Joe Jantz of Ritzville; a sister, Josephine Stucky of Seattle; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ted Cushner Port Orchard, Wash.
Rosary for Ted Cushner, 50, will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home in Spokane. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Cushner, who was born in Spokane, died May 12.
He grew up in Hillyard and attended St. Patrick Elementary School. He graduated from Rogers High School in 1967.
Shortly after his high school graduation, Mr. Cushner began his career as a jeweler.
He moved to Port Orchard several years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; two sons, Ted and Joe Cushner, both of Spokane; two daughters, Tara Cushner of Pullman and Jill Cushner at home; five brothers, Jim Cushner of Lakewood, Colo., Dan Cushner of Littleton, Colo., Doug Bacon of Nine Mile Falls, Bill McKee of Bothell, Wash., and Rick Bell of Port Orchard; a sister, Mary Klepinger of Spokane; and one granddaughter.
