Michael Bowen Coeur d’Alene

Celebration of the life of Michael “Mike” Bowen, 43, will be at 4:30 p.m. today at New Life Community Church on Ramsey Road in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bowen, who was born in San Diego, died Saturday.

He graduated in 1976 from Coeur d’Alene High School, and had worked as a Pepsi driver for the past 11 years.

Mr. Bowen was a member of New Life Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jann; a daughter, Sarah Bowen at home; a stepson, Charlie Gay of Spirit Lake, Idaho; two brothers, Steve Bowen of Coeur d’Alene and Keith Bowen of Spokane; and two sisters, Sandra O’Neal and Sherrie Olin, both of Coeur d’Alene.

Robert Gee Beckville, Texas

Memorial service for former Spokane resident, Robert L. Gee, will be held at a later date. Sallie Lipsey Funeral Home in Carthage, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gee, who was born in Upshur County, Texas, died Monday. He was 88.

He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was a railroad conductor with Union Pacific Railroad in Spokane. He retired in 1983.

Mr. Gee moved to Panola County, Texas, in 1983, and married Lanore Powell in 1987.

He was a member of the United Transportation Union Local No. 1505, Spokane Masonic Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Gee Jr. of Lynnwood, Wash.; a daughter, C.E. Lewis of Longview, Wash.; five stepdaughters, Patricia Norsworthy and Debra Kennedy of Jacksonville, Texas, Judy Johnson of Wakefield, Mich., Vickie Berryhill of Chandler, Texas and Karen Thompson of Beckville; two half-sisters, Eula Rhoads of Mount Pleasant, Texas and Floy Duffey of Tyler, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Fern Huttner Spokane

Memorial service for Fern Mae Huttner, 81, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the family home. Private inurnment will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Huttner, who was born in Northgate, N.D., died Monday. She was a 44-year Spokane resident.

She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Fred; a daughter, Judi Surrant of Benicia, Calif.; a son, Sidney Huttner of Iowa City, Iowa; a brother and a sister; and one granddaughter.

Memorial contributions can be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

Raymond Pearce Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Raymond A. Pearce, 70, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, with a reception to follow at the Hayden Chapel Gathering Center.

Mr. Pearce, who was born in Wallace, died Thursday.

He grew up in Osburn, Idaho, and graduated in 1948 from Wallace High School.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart.

Mr. Pearce returned to the Wallace area after his military service and worked as a hard-rock miner.

He married Beverly Scroggins in 1954 and they settled in Osburn. He retired from the mining industry in 1977. He moved to Wyoming and then Sparks, Nev., before returning to Osburn in 1988. In 1993 they moved to Coeur d’Alene.

He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Pearce was involved in fishing and woodworking.

His wife died in November. Survivors include a son, Mike Pearce of Hayden, Idaho; two sisters, Agnes Pearce of Wilmington, Del., and Violet Hise of Coeur d’Alene; and one greatgrandchild.

Katherine Perry Spokane

Graveside service for Katherine M. Perry, 93, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Perry, who was born in Lenoir City, Tenn., died Saturday. She was a 35-year Spokane resident.

She and her husband were managers of the Fairchild Trailer Park.

Mrs. Perry was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Grand Coulee, Wash.

Her husband, Louis, died in 1979.

Survivors include four sons, Milford Perry of Spokane, Vern Perry of Greenacres, Gerry Perry of Vancouver, Wash., and Earl Perry of Pendleton, Ore.; three daughters, Vada Strickert of Moses Lake, Beverly Bonando of Pilot Rock, Ore., and Penny Hoisington of Juliaetta, Idaho; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

David `Wally’ Davidson Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Service for David Wallace “Wally” Davidson, 89, will be at 11 a.m. today at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Wilson Creek, Wash., Mr. Davidson died Thursday.

He moved to Bonners Ferry in 1921 and graduated from high school there. He served in the Navy from 1929 until 1938.

Mr. Davidson returned to the family farm near Bonners Ferry after his military service, and in 1942 married Maxine Foote Pospisil.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was involved in various community boards.

His wife died in 1999.

Survivors include four sons, Tim Davidson of Dayton, Ohio, George Davidson of Sandpoint, Kevin Davidson of Spokane, and Larry Davidson of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Edna Walter, and a brother, Marion Davidson, both of Bonners Ferry; and one grandson, Derek.

Norma Kyle Spokane

Memorial service for Norma R. Kyle, 88, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Church of the Nazarene. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Colfax, Mrs. Kyle died Sunday.

She worked as a nurse in a nursing home, and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Charles Kyle of Ridgefield, Conn., and one grandson.

Rose (Rawson) Blanchard Spokane

Memorial service for Rose E. (Rawson) Blanchard, 88, was Monday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at the Moscow (Idaho) Cemetery.

Mrs. Blanchard, who was born in Moscow, died June 21.

She worked in the deputy clerk’s office of the Latah County Auditor and Recorder for 30 years.

In 1947 she married Henry Blanchard. They moved to Spokane in 1965.

She was a volunteer braillist with the Father Palmer Memorial Braille Service and was certified by the Library of Congress in 1966.

Mrs. Blanchard was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Dudley Loomis Post No. 6 in Moscow.

Her husband died in 1973.

She is survived by a sister, Sister Mary Ann Rawson, SNJM of Tucson, Ariz.

Joe Lockwood Spokane

Memorial service for Joe E. Lockwood, 73, will be at 4 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Lockwood, who was born and raised in Ringling, Okla., died Sunday. He was a 38-year resident of Spokane.

He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Lockwood worked for more than 50 years in the retail lumber business, beginning in 1949 at Hudson-Houston Lumber Co. in Ringling, and then in 1962 with Monroe Street Lumber in Spokane. He later worked for Brauner Lumber Co.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Lou; three sons, Joe, Jeffrey and Phillip Lockwood; three daughters, Rhonda Hall, Nancy Fish and Dana Rickey; three sisters, Mozelle Wilson of Prairie Grove, Ark., Mary Lockwood of Ringling, Okla. and Bettye Billingsley of Livingston, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Robert Bithell Jr. Deer Park

Memorial service for Robert James Bithell Jr., 58, will be at 1 p.m. today at Hilltop Community Church of God in Deer Park. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bithell, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday.

He served in the Navy in the 1960s and was an electrical technician. He repaired computers, televisions and VCRs.

Mr. Bithell was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include two sons, James Bithell of Deer Park and Brian Bithell of Guyton, Ga.; a daughter, Bonita Landa of Jesup, Ga.; his mother, Cleo Bithell, and a sister, Susan Lyons, both of Deer Park; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
