Produce expected to be available this week at area farmers’ markets (depending on weather; shop early for best selection):

Spokane MarketPlace (Wednesday, and Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., DeSmet and Ruby): Apples (Gala, Red Gala, MacIntosh, Red and Golden Delicious), variety of winter squash, garlic, onions, leeks, Asian chives, Chinese cabbage, peppers, (green, jalapeno, Anaheim) potatoes (red, white, Yukon Gold, russet), basil, variety of dried medicinal and culinary herbs, honey, walnuts, baked goods, jams, jellies and a variety of cheeses.
