Thanksgiving webinar

Watch Washington State University executive chef Jamie Callison prepare a Thanksgiving meal tonight online.

In the “Thanksgiving and Beyond: Secrets to a Stress-Free Holiday” webinar, he will prepare turkey and gravy, then combine leftovers to make savory muffins. Audience members can ask questions as Callison cooks as well as in advance by emailing them to global.connections@wsu.edu.

The event is organized and presented by WSU Global Connections, part of the Global Campus, which brings extracurricular programming to online students and members of the public.

Decadence! winners

The first Decadence! Spokane Chocolate Festival has announced its winners.

Event champion is Spokane Community College culinary arts instructor and sugar artist Bob Lombardi.

Diana Parker of Tonicx and Ash St. Tacos is the runner-up. Finalists are Wayne Patterson of Max at Mirabeau and Drue Heinen of Area 51 Taphouse at The Onion.

The event featured sweet and savory creations from chocolatiers and chefs from Spokane and throughout the Pacific Northwest. Proceeds benefited Inland NW Baby, a local nonprofit that provides supplies to children in need in the greater Spokane area.

Winter market

The Thursday Market in South Perry has moved indoors.

Spokane’s only winter farmers market takes place through December from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 915 S. Perry St., or The Buddhio, home of South Perry Yoga.

‘Mixology’ ebook available

The new cocktail book by Spokane artist Sheila Evans is now available as an ebook.

“Mixology: the Art of Classic Cocktails” combines three of her loves – classic cocktails, antiques and oil painting – in a series of still lifes and old-school drink recipes.

The self-published volume features 19 recipes and prints of original oil paintings.
