Freeman stays undefeated in league behind strong pitching

Freeman (9-2, 6-0) continued its perfect league season this week with a pair of shutouts over Medical Lake and a win over Newport. Coach Chad Ripke’s squad features a strong pitching staff and the Scotties have outscored their Northeast A League opponents 83-3, with one of the runs against unearned.

Mariners Log: Felix Hernandez tosses gem and M’s edge Rangers

Felix Hernandez might not have the top fastball to blow hitters away anymore, but he’s been solid in three starts. His performance on Friday night was the best so far. The Seattle Mariners ace allowed one run on six hits with no walks and led the M’s to a 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers at Safeco Field.
