Area residents gradaute from basic military training

The following five local residents recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Kelley Ridnour is the daughter of Jerry Ridnour of Medical Lake, and Barbara Ridnour of Cheney, and is a 2006 graduate of Cheney High School.

Daniel Bell-Garrison of Spokane was awarded Eagle Scout, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts. Bell-Garrison cleaned tombstones at Marshall Cemetery for his Eagle Scout project. He is a member of Troop 313. Bell-Garrison is a sophomore at Ferris High School and the son of Ken and Eileen Bell-Garrison of Spokane. •Roosevelt Elementary recently announced its first trimester honor roll. Knol receives WSU’s regents scholarship

Kaitlynn Knol, a senior at Mount Spokane High School received a Distinguished Regents scholarship from Washington State University. She is the daughter of Keith and Pam Knol of Mead. “The semifinalists were recently announced in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program. Zachary Weber of Gonzaga Prep, Jacob Erb of Mead High School, and Emma Perkins and Nathaniel Wynn, both of St. George's School, also made the list.

Community Update: Musical to benefit humane society

Enjoy "Christmas in Reverse," a musical performed by children ages 6 to 18, telling the tale of the birth of Jesus all the way back to the Garden of Eden, on Friday and Saturday. Held at the Candlelight Christian Fellowship, 5725 N. Pioneer Drive in Coeur d'Alene, the event on Friday is at 7 p.m., and on Saturday two performances will be held, one at 2 p.m. and one at 7.

The 25th annual Christmas Tree Elegance continues tonight at the Davenport Hotel with An Evening with Eckart and Friends.
