Sexual assault victims can track their kits with new system

The Washington State Patrol has rolled out a new system for sexual assault victims to easily track rape kits as they’re processed though different government agencies, similar to how a UPS package is tracked online. “This system is something different,” said Larry Hebert, director at the WSP Forensic Laboratory Services Bureau. “It’s essentially for the benefit of the survivors.”

62-year-old Spokane woman swims the English Channel

Robin Davis was about jump into the English Channel and begin the first of six one-hour legs of a relay swim from Dover, England, to France. It was just after sunrise, and the water was running at 62 degrees, 1 degree for every year she’s been alive. She was smeared with grease to prevent heat loss and chafing from the salt, and she had no wetsuit.
