Single-car crash north of Cusick kills three, injures two

A single-car crash killed three and injured two north of Cusick, Washington, on Wednesday morning, according to Washington State Patrol. The crash happened at LeClerc Road and Cee Cee Ah Creek Road North of Cusick on the east side of the Pend Oreille River after the car went over an embankment, said Trooper Jeff Sevigney, spokesman for WSP.

Reg Flag Warning issued in Spokane County and surrounding areas until Saturday

Spokane will be under a Red Flag Warning from 2 p.m. today until 5 a.m. Saturday morning. A Red Flag Warning signals a high risk for fire. Windy weather, low humidity and high temperatures contribute to the possibility of fires. Other areas under the warning are Whitman, Adams, Grant and Douglas counties and southern portions of Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Stevens and Ferry counties as well as the Okanogan Valley in Okanogan County.

Spokane Valley K-9 catches burglary suspect

A Spokane Valley K-9 sniffed out a wanted man hiding in an apartment Friday and dragged him to his arrest. Deputies responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex in 5000-block of East Buckeye Avenue about 6 p.m., but when they arrived, they found a woman who told them the call was for an argument, not a crime, Spokane Valley police said in a news release.
