Focus on Washington beer

The Washington Beer Commission is asking for photos of folks enjoying the state’s suds, and offering some prizes in return.

The commission’s third annual #DrinkWABeer contest runs through June 5 on Instagram. Everyone is invited to answer the question “I #DrinkWABeer because …” with a picture and a story.

Each Monday starting next week, a winner will be picked to receive a custom glass handcrafted by Portland’s North Drinkware called The Washington Pint , with a to-scale image of Mt. Rainier molded into the base.

A grand prize winner will then be selected by public vote from among those five weekly finalists. The reward: Four tickets to the state’s biggest beer event, the Washington Brewers Festival on June 16-18 (Father’s Day weekend) in King County’s Marymoor Park.
