You’d be forgiven if you thought these days that the public discourse has become something of a shouting match – that volume is prized more than good sense and hollering over each other is more important than talking with each other.

It is time to say Enough is ENOUGH!

Robert Hopkins letter on the evils of studded tires ("Ban the studs," Dec. 13) is myopic and misinformed.

As a bishop in the United Methodist Church, I guide the responses of 400 churches in four Northwest states to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consistent with government and health advice, on March 13, these churches postponed in-person worship to avoid spreading the virus through congregational singing, “passing the peace” handshakes and hugs.

In one day, we lost three patients in the intensive care unit due to complications related to severe COVID-19 pneumonia.

My daughter and I walked through Riverfront Park tonight. With the snow lightly falling, I felt compelled to describe how beautiful our park looked in a Letter to the Editor!

I totally agree with the letters from Catherine Shive ("The famous salesman," Dec. 13) and Charles Christian Anderson ("Keep Leonard Pitts". I have a My Pillow, and love it. It puts old-fashioned pillows to shame.

Pundits are saying that Trump may run for President in 2024.
