Local lawyers Deanna Crull and Andrew Biviano competing for Spokane County district judge position in November election

Deanna Crull, 46, is running against Andrew Biviano, 47, in the nonpartisan election for the seat. District judges serve four-year terms and preside over misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic infractions, small claims issues, protection orders in cases of domestic violence or harassment and therapeutic court proceedings.

Stevens County man gets 12 years in federal prison after sex worker turned him in for asking her to find him a 12-year-old

James Drew Bradley pleaded guilty in May to a single count of attempted enticement of a minor. An adult sex worker went to Spokane Police in August 2019, sharing texts she had with Bradley in which he requested she find him a 12-year-old girl "for 24 hours ... and virgin," offering her $1,000, according to court records.

Amelia Clark, state Board of Health agree to resolve complaint over Bob Lutz firing with her resignation

Representatives for Amelia Clark and the state Board of Health signed an agreement Aug. 16 that prevents Clark from ever serving in the position again. Clark faced multiple complaints alleging she violated state law by dismissing Bob Lutz in October 2020, with an independent investigator later finding evidence she had acted without the approval of the local health board as required by statute.
