Gonzaga-Arizona game will be pushed back again

Tommy Lloyd made it known during his first press conference as Arizona’s head coach that he wasn’t looking forward to the Gonzaga-Arizona contest scheduled for November. Lloyd won’t have to worry about an emotional Spokane homecoming with Monday’s news that the Zags-Wildcats matchup won’t be played next season. The game has been pushed back, possibly until the 2024-25 season, the Arizona Daily Star reported.

New Arizona basketball coach Tommy Lloyd warned in his first sentence that he might get a little emotional. He kept his word less than a minute into his opening remarks at Thursday’s press conference in Tucson.Lloyd worked his way up on Few’s staff, developing a well-earned reputation for his recruiting prowess, game planning and knowledge of Xs and Os. Lloyd landed the Arizona job on Wednesday and he was introduced to the program’s passionate fan base Thursday.
