The Senate has voted 25-10 in favor of HB 67a, the grocery tax repeal bill. The bill, originally an income tax cut bill when it passed the House, now goes back to the House for concurrence in the Senate amendments. (Huckleberries is happy to report that all 4 North Idaho senators voted for this bill.)

Racist fliers littered Sandpoint on Sunday, attracting condemnation from the community and the local human rights task force. Sandpoint Police Chief Corey Coon said as many as 30 of the fliers, which promoted a website which traffics in speech against Hispanics, Jews and other creeds and nationalities, were collected. The Idaho Senate has approved a major tax-cut bill for Idaho employers, passing SB 1195 on a 34-1 vote Wednesday to cut the unemployment premium tax rate that employers pay, saving Idaho employers $115 million over the next three years.
