DALLAS – Forward Ally Cook scored in the first half, but the Zephyr were unable to fend off a second-half rally from Dallas in a 2-1 season opening Super League loss to the Trinity at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday.

The Pac-12 is set to add college baseball powerhouse Dallas Baptist as a single-sport affiliate member next year, multiple sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Athletic. The school will begin play as a conference member in spring 2027.

Matt Scanell ended the competitive portion of the game with a three-run home run in the third inning and the Spokane Indians lost to the Vancouver Canadians 6-1 in the finale of a High-A Northwest League series at Avista Stadium on Sunday.

The High-A minor league regular season is long – 132 games. For players in their first full professional season, it's a chance to figure out what "being a pro" means.
