PULLMAN – The schedule for Washington State’s next men’s basketball season is starting to come together.

Gonzaga’s return matchup against San Diego State is set for Nov. 18. The Zags, who lost to the Aztecs 84-74 last December at the McCarthey Athletic Center, will try to return the favor this November at Viejas Arena, routinely filled with 12,000 fans and one of the most challenging road environments on the West Coast.

The West Coast Conference released its 2024-25 women’s basketball schedule Tuesday featuring 20 games over an 11-week span. With Washington State and Oregon State joining the WCC, conference play goes from 16 games to 20 with each of the 11 teams playing each other twice.

Gonzaga and Arizona State, led by Bobby Hurley, have agreed to a two-game series with the first matchup Nov. 10 at the McCarthey Athletic Center, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. The return game will be during the 2025-26 season in Tempe, Arizona.

To accommodate two new members as part of a revised 18-game scheduling format, the West Coast Conference had to rearrange some things and do away with others.

There's nothing brighter for Sonja "Sunny" Greinacher than gold. Greinacher, the former Gonzaga basketball standout who has played overseas in her home country in Germany since her college career ended in 2015, earned a gold medal on Monday after leading the Germans past Spain 17-16 in the women's 3x3 final at the Paris Olympics.

Not much happening in Mark Few’s world other than fist-bumps with Snoop Dogg, preparing Team USA for the quarterfinals and revisiting Gonzaga’s win over Kevin Durant and Texas and the Zags’ loss to Stephen Curry and Davidson. Oh, and time spent as a fan watching tennis titans Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal at famed Roland Garros and men’s and women’s 3x3 hoops.

LAS VEGAS – When Killian Tillie’s first 3-point attempt didn’t drop during an NBA Summer League debut with the Boston Celtics, he didn’t flinch. When his driving floater rimmed out 70 seconds later, Tillie shrugged it off and moved to the next play. When another 3 missed toward the end of the first quarter, Tillie was hardly bothered.

Anton Watson hasn’t spent much time in the Northeast corner of the country, but the former Gonzaga forward should be more than familiar with the region by the end of his first professional basketball season.
