Game On: Sudden surge of portable gaming devices suggests healthy handheld market

Created by electronics brand Asus, the ROG Ally was released on June 13 to mostly positive reviews. Although handheld game consoles are hardly new, there was an noticeable lull in their production prior to the surprising success of the Steam Deck last year. Nintendo has always been the dominating force in handheld gaming, with all other competitors struggling to stay afloat.

Game On: Amid shifting shooting game landscape, Bungie to reboot Marathon

May’s PlayStation Showcase saw the announcement of Marathon, the next game from Bungie, the Bellevue-based developer best known for creating Halo and Destiny. A reboot, the original trilogy was released in 1994-96 exclusively for Mac OS and largely flew under the radar. However, it was well-received critically and set the stage for Bungie to create the Halo franchise.

Can a baby bridge the great divide between liberals and conservatives in ‘Human Error’?

Conflict abounds throughout the inspired “Human Error.” Eric Pfeffinger’s comedic play is about two very different couples with the same problem – infertility – and the same goal – starting a family. There are the NPR devotees, with a taste for Starbucks, who are liberals. The other pair are proud conservatives, who are NRA members who tool around in trucks.
