SAGLE, Idaho – The Idaho Transportation Department is exploring an expansion of U.S. Highway 95 that could bypass the unincorporated town of Sagle south of Sandpoint.

Bus fare will be free across the entire Spokane Transit Authority system during weekends from May 4 to June 30 to coincide with celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Expo ’74.

The 10.5 mile freeway that's 23 years in the making is fully funded. The final 3.5 miles left to build will be the most complicated, engineers say, and drivers should expect delays on I-90 down the line. 

The money is part of a $20.5 billion investment announced this month by the Federal Transit Administration to bolster public transport across the country under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. $388 million of that funding will go to Washington state in the form of grants.
