Gonzaga was coming off a record-breaking weekend and surging into the national postseason picture, but the Bulldogs took a step back this past week, dropping three games.

It seemed only appropriate that it was a breakthrough year in many ways for American elite runners Sunday morning.

In a way, Kim Jones was resistant to her first Lilac Bloomsday race.

He is among several Bloomsday legends that have been invited back for the celebration of the 50th running of the event Sunday. His wife, former elite winner Kim Jones, plans to run the race ceremoniously, but Sinclair will likely just mingle in the crowd.

The Monday evening before the Lilac Bloomsday race may be as special to elite coordinator Andy LeFriec as the race itself.

Ava Hamilton, Amara Paul, Kinleigh Cook and Ziomara Guidi will represent Dynamic at the event, which features gymnasts Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. All four athletes are level 9 competitors.

The Spokane Indians are in the midst of a season-high 12-game road trip through Everett and Eugene. They hope the second half of the trip goes better than the first.

EVERETT – Tommy Hopfe doubled in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning and the Spokane Indians edged the Everett AquaSox 7-6 in the finale of a six-game High-A Northwest League series at Funko Field on Sunday.

Hope Hisey achieved her 150th career save and the Spokane Zephyr eliminated the 2024 USL Super League runner-ups from playoff contention in a 3-1 triumph over Fort Lauderdale United at ONE Spokane Stadium on Sunday.

The hottest team in college baseball, Gonzaga completed another West Coast Conference sweep and set a couple of program records in the process.

EVERETT – Brody Brecht dominated over four innings and the Spokane Indians beat the Everett AquaSox 6-2 in the fifth of a six-game High-A Northwest League series at Funko Field on Saturday.
