Israel Garcia is identified in federal court documents as the man who stepped out of a dark-colored sedan and shot at officers at Cedar Street and First Avenue on Oct. 16. Police, working with the Drug Enforcement Administration, were communicating with Garcia through a confidential source that had arranged to buy drugs at a nearby apartment. Garcia is identified in court records, prepared by a DEA special agent, as a courier in the transaction with an unnamed drug source.

From the moment rumors surfaced that investigators had a suspect in the November stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students, dozens of public forums and Facebook groups about the killings lit up.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man after neighbors reported that he was firing a weapon on Monday afternoon inside of his apartment building in Hayden.

STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The criminology graduate student accused of killing four University of Idaho students agreed Tuesday to be extradited from his home state of Pennsylvania to Idaho to face murder charges.

A woman was shot in the leg and head at her home near Othello after answering the door to a masked person who was asking about her son.

“Mr. Kohberger has been accused of very serious crimes, but the American justice system cloaks him in a veil of innocence. He should be presumed innocent until proven otherwise – not tried in the court of public opinion,” the attorney for Bryan C. Kohberger said.

Some University of Idaho students and Moscow residents stopped going out at night and started locking their doors after the fatal stabbings of four students in mid-November. Other students left campus and returned home to family.

Police have identified the 57-year-old man shot and killed during a car chase Thursday.

Seven weeks after the slayings of four University of Idaho students shocked the campus, police announced they believe the killer is a Washington State University graduate student arrested Friday in Pennsylvania.

The man who was shot in the leg last week at North Spokane RV Campground claimed the shooter may have been high on methamphetamine and upset about a stolen sweatshirt before firing the single round that damaged a bone in the victim’s leg, according to court documents.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in locating a mini excavator that was stolen in July.

A judge last week sentenced a 25-year-old former Spokane Children’s Theatre employee to 16 months behind bars for a felony charge of communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
