Kaleo returns with ‘Surface Sounds’ at Knitting Factory

Well, it's the opposite for Iceland's Kaleo, which means voice in Hawaiian. Singer-guitarist-songwriter Jokull Juliusson, aka J.J., was inspired musically since he was a child by American roots music and the Beatles. "I was always fascinated by that style of music," Juliusson said while calling from his Nashville home.

Review: Peter Dinklage stars in a heart-rending, haunting ‘Cyrano’

Joe Wright gives "Cyrano de Bergerac" a timely, smartly conceived refresh with "Cyrano," his adaptation of an adaptation of Edmond Rostand's 1897 play. In 2019, writer Erica Schmidt staged a production starring her husband, Peter Dinklage, in the title role, adding music by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of the National.

Cole Swindell brings tour stop to First Interstate Center

Country singer-songwriter Cole Swindell brings his Down to the Bar tour to First Interstate Center for the Arts on Saturday night, and Travis Denning and Ashley Cooke are the opening acts. Swindell’s new album, “Stereotype,” is set for release in April. The album’s first single, “Single Saturday Night,” was released in 2020.
