A 74-year-old man was carried between 20-30 feet on the hood of a car before firing into the vehicle and killing the driver, Coeur d'Alene police said.
The woman had serious but not life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Sacred Heart, Washington state troopers said.
“It’s the central mystery of our faith,” Bob Feeny, pastor at Westminster United Church, said. “That Jesus Christ rose from the dead and that life beyond what we believe is possible in God.”
The driver of a small four-door sedan lost control near the curve where Broadway Avenue turns into Alki Way and swerved into a lane of oncoming traffic, police said.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking more information about a man who was arrested last week following a pair of sexual assaults that took place in April 2022.

The four astronauts selected for the Artemis II mission will be the first humans to travel to the moon since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972, more than five decades ago.
One of the vehicle's occupants was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff's office said. Another was transported to Kootenai Health with major injuries.
