Dad Daze: Bob Saget, not Bill Cosby, was America’s Dad

Perception is indeed reality. This is a tale of two TV fathers. Both were known as "America's Dad" as they starred in sitcoms that ran for eight seasons that happened to coincide during the 1980s and 1990s. The actors were standups who happened to attend the same college, Temple University.

Dad Daze: What to do for a child when a parent passes away

One of my favorite rituals, walking my young children to school, was possible after moving just three blocks from our old elementary institution. It was a bit like the Beatles classic "Penny Lane" but with quirkier characters along the streets. There was Bob, the ditzy crossing guard who was fired after delivering an off-color joke.

Dad Daze: Can’t-miss holiday films to watch with the family

Christmas week is synonymous with holiday films. While growing up, my parents and I would experience the familiar classics "It's a Wonderful Life," "A Christmas Story" and "White Christmas" the final week of each year. My children also have enjoyed these films, but we've decided to move in other cinematic directions.

Dad Daze: Looking at Christmas past with my father in order to move forward

While recently rifling through photos, I noticed my father Edward J. Condran Jr. sporting a "Ghost Dad" T-shirt. For the uninitiated, "Ghost Dad" is a forgettable Bill Cosby film from a generation ago. The shirt was one of the many promotional items I received during my radio daze. My dad thought the shirt was amusing.

Dad Daze: Finally, there is peace on Earth with gift-giving

It used to be so easy buying presents for the kids. When my daughters were young, it was always about princess garb, cool clothing and dolls and, of course, doll houses. Jillian loved moon shoes, Barbies and Polly Pockets, and nothing topped Madeleine's digs. I can't express how much I miss Thomas the Tank Engine.
